Halifax, Mass. – Aug. 19, 2017 – Six teams accepted the challenge to compete in the SOJT Farm Cup, sponsored by Tom Curren Builders. The must-ride, must-watch event of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament in Halifax, Massachusetts, was sponsored by Tom Curren Builders. Each team chose distinct color coordinated outfits to reflect their name and custom designed shirts were provided by Silver Oak.

The teams, the Babington BAs, Team Savage, Madison Maniacs, SKD (Seek, Kill, Destroy), Alamar AKs, and the California Rolls, threw down the gauntlet in the Nations Cup format in which three horse-and-ride combinations per team went against the clock. The team’s combined scores with the fewest faults and the fastest times took home the top prize. Each team dropped the score of the highest number of faults in the first round.

Five out of the first six riders produced clear rounds over the 1.20m-1.25m course with Brigitte Harbers riding Havanna De Muze posting a fault-free time of 65.685 to establish the lead for the California Rolls. As the rest of the riders took to the course and the pressure mounted, fault-free rounds became more difficult to produce and, by the end of the first round, it was the California Rolls who produced three clear rounds.

For the final jump-off, each team chose an anchor horse-and-rider duo to tackle the short course. The crowd assembled around the CMJ Jumper Annex boisterously cheered on their favorites. Although rhree teams posted clear rounds, the California Rolls secured their place at the podium with the fastest fault-free time.

“I’m proud to feature the SOJT Farm Cup for the second year,” said Jeff Papows, chairman of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament. “It is a very unique event that riders really enjoy. Each year we seek more teams to enter and the crowd really enjoys cheering on their favorites.”

Final Standings:
1. California Rolls – Alle Durkin, Dyanna Rucco and Brigitte Harbers
2. SKD – Kaitlyn Parker, Alexandra King, Jordyn M. Friedman
3. Alamar AKs – Candice King, Deana Schenkel, Elizabeth Stroh
