GLEF Congratulates 2017 Circuit Champions!

Traverse City, Mich. – Aug. 17, 2017 – The Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF) wrapped up a successful 2017 season on Sunday after six weeks of competition held from July 5 – Aug. 13 at the Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse City, Michigan. Hunter, jumper and equitation circuit champions and leading rider awards were announced at the conclusion of the final week.

Other special awards were also presented throughout the circuit including the Gochman Family ‘Rafael’ Sportsmanship Perpetual Memorial Trophy, which was awarded to Philippa Ammann during Week Four. The Karin Flint Perpetual Trophy was awarded to Hillside Farm’s Heather Irvine on Sunday, Aug. 13, during the final week of GLEF. Irvine was recognized for her outstanding horsemanship and achievements throughout the 2017 GLEF circuit and also won the Leading Overall Trainer title.

2017 Great Lakes Equestrian Festival Fast Facts:
 
What: The Great Lakes Equestrian Festival is held annually in July and August at the Flintfields Horse Park in Williamsburg, Michigan, located just outside Traverse City. This six-week event hosts nationally rated hunter/jumper competition, featuring weekly classes and classics for children, juniors, adult and amateur-owner riders. Each week, the festival also holds classes for young horses, professional hunter derbies, open jumper classes and the premier grand prix held each Sunday during July and August.
