Marcus Fyffe Dressage Earn 2016 National Year-End Award Titles

Wellington, Fla. – December 28, 2016 – The competition season in 2016 brought much success for both Olympian David Marcus and Grand Prix competitor Nicholas Fyffe, as well as their Marcus Fyffe Dressage clients. To top off a standout year, their two up-and-coming big tour competition mounts, Binjora and Fiero HGF, earned prestigious national year-end awards.

David Marcus rode Binjora, a 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood (Hemmingway-Jora, Darnels), to claim the Adequan®/USDF Intermediate II Dressage Horse of the Year with an average of 74.671 percent. Nicholas Fyffe and his 8-year-old PRE stallion, Fiero HGF (Grandioso III-Ibiza, Galan XVI) earned the Adequan®/USDF All-Breed Grand Prix title for the United States P.R.E. Association.

Marcus purchased Binjora in 2014, and the pair entered the competition ring together for the first time this summer, earning high marks for their relaxation, walk and the piaffe-passage tour. As his confidence continues to grow, Marcus plans to make Binjora’s Grand Prix debut during the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in 2017.

“I really appreciate what an important accomplishment it is to win the Horse of the Year award,” Marcus explained. “I really enjoy my partnership with Binjora, and believe he has the potential to be a top international Grand Prix competitor. I love that the judges saw what I see in him and rewarded him with high scores. Hopefully this is the first of many accomplishments we will have together.”

Nicholas Fyffe and his 8-year-old PRE stallion, Fiero HGF (Grandioso III-Ibiza, Galan XVI) earned the Adequan®/USDF All-Breed Grand Prix title for the United States P.R.E. Association. The pair stepped up to Grand Prix at the beginning of the summer and they have continued to improve every time they go down centerline. Fyffe plans to continue building Fiero’s confidence with the goal of competing in the international CDI ring during the Wellington season.”

“Receiving this year-end award is the icing to the cake for us,” Fyffe said. “I have had 100 percent confidence in him since he was two years old. For him to come out as an 8-year-old and be the best P.R.E. Grand Prix horse in the country, I am thrilled. It’s only just the beginning for him, and I am really proud of his accomplishments in his first year competing in the Grand Prix.”
