Blogger R.T. Fitch Listened on Speaker Phone During Wallis Outrage

Wyoming Presecutor Investigating Wallis

 By Steven Long

HOUSTON, (Horseback) – A Wyoming state legislator may have more legal troubles around the corner after an incident at Las Vegas’ South Point Hotel and Casino during the third day session of The Summit of the Horse.

Already under investigation for self dealing and an ethics complaint in her

home state, Rep. Sue Wallis will now likely face a personal injury lawsuit filed by an Arizona woman she alleged assaulted during a fit of rage.

During a speech by renowned animal behaviorist and slaughter expert Dr. Temple Grandin, Wallis allegedly charged a credentialed journalist who says her arm is healing from a horse accident. The arm has nine pins in it put there during orthopedic surgery four weeks ago.

Speaking to Horseback Online from a Las Vegas hospital emergency room, Arizona based Simone Netherlands said. “Yesterday was just fine, I had a press pass. I’m a producer of the “Meet America” series aired in Santa Barbara.

They were true press credentials. It’s a public station. We broadcast all kinds of good horse stuff from there.”

The credential was issued to Netherlands by the Summit of the Horse and her employer.

Wallis was apparently angered by statements Netherland’s  made during a news conference Tuesday when the Arizona woman attacked alleged misstatements about horse processing made by Summit organizers and speakers. The comments were aired on a Las Vegas TV newscast.

When Netherlands entered the room to cover Grandin’s speech, the Recluse, Wyoming politician allegedly exploded.

No trouble has occurred during the three day event other than the Wallis eruption; however, Summit organizers were clearly expecting an assault by “animal rights” activists, or “ARs” as they are called by pro-slaughter supporters. Attendees had to be passed over by a hand held metal detector to enter the room. Netherlands had just gone through the device and had walked 15 feet into the conference to take her seat when Wallis approached.

No violent incidents by equine welfare advocates have ever been reported to Horseback Magazine.

“Sue Wallis came storming at me, she grabbed both of my arms and she immediately started pushing me out while she’s saying things like ‘You misrepresented yourself, you’re not with the press, I saw you on TV last night,’ she was like really screaming.”

“I said, Ow!” Netherlands continued. “I said, ‘Ow! Please don’t touch me, but she just kind of shoved me backwards out of the conference room. When we were all the way out she finally stopped touching me.”

“I said, excuse me, I’ve got press credentials, will you please check them out?”

She said, ‘Well, I’m taking it away.

I don’t want you here and they are going to escort you off the property.”

Wallis did not call hotel security to professionally remove the woman until after the inident when Netherlands was in a hallway outside the meeting room.

Hotel security arrived and Netherlands protested being removed from the conference.

“What did I do, I didn’t disturb anyone, I basically went into the conference , I was there all day yesterday,” Netherlands told Horseback. “They told me ‘This is private property and we can escort you out for any reason, even if we don’t like your face.”

Netherlands complained that she was in pain as she awaited the results of an XRAY that had just been taken at the hospital.

Hotel management was unaware of the incident when contacted by Horseback Online Wednesday evening.

Netherlands called the Las Vegas police who took a report from her but would not accept charges against Wallis after reviewing a video of the incident, telling Netherlands they didn’t believe Wallis intended to hurt her.

The sparsely attended conference was billed as a national convention of the horse industry aimed to get the equine business back on track after a severe economic slump. Thus far it is been primarily an effort to again open horse meat slaughterhouses for human consumption. The nation’s three abattoirs were closed in 2008 after the courts found state laws making them illegal were constitutional.

Recent surveys show nine out of ten Americans are opposed to the killing of horses for food, up from 70 percent in previous surveys.

Wallis made no comment regarding the incident after a Horseback request for her side of the story.

Sue Wallis had no business putting her hands on Netherlands!! Whether she meant to hurt her or not, she violated her personal body space, and caused pain and possible further injury to her elbow!
Simone Netherlands a a delicate body type, and Sue Wallis is a huge bulky woman!

I know Simone was in serious pain if anyone touched her arm at all. About a month or so ago, she was in Nevada, and we drove her around to every place she went! Also, I stood near her side to be sure no one bumped her arm!! She had to keep it in a bent position all the time, having no range of movement! It is a terrible break in several spots, therefore needing the nine pins! No one should ever put their hands on someone, especially violently grabbing and pushing them!

Simone is a wonderful lady, working tirelessly to save horses from slaughter, always on her own dime. I honor her work, her gentle spirit, generosity, brilliance and determination, and especially her love for horses. She owns horses, and trains horses in a non invasive, gentle way. I am shocked & horrified by the aggressive and rude behavior of Sue Wallis, upon Simone Netherlands!
Sorry, but that is just wrong!

It appears to me, that George Knapp and Simone Netherlands comments, and the exposure of the slaughter house horrors in graphic video cuts on Channel 8 news, Las Vegas, got Sue pretty darn angry. Did you really think horse advocates would just sit back and watch? Eat your heart out Sue, just don’t eat our horses!!

i believe sue wallis stated both sides of the slaughter issue were welcome to attend the “summit of the horse” and be heard, simone netherlands clearly had the proper credentials to be there and be speak about “anti-slaughter” and present those solutions to the attendees !!!

Netherlands called the Las Vegas police who took a report from her but would not accept charges against Wallis after reviewing a video of the incident, telling Netherlands they didn’t believe Wallis intended to hurt her…

It is NOT for the police to decide the merit of a complaint…it is their duty to allow anyone to file…..I would also file a complaint against the police for failing to allow the advocate to file charges.

    • Anne-Marie on January 6, 2011 at 4:39 pm

CJ, you are right, I was going to say the same thing…you beat me to it! Someone lays a hand on you it is considered an “Assault”. Considering the size of SH Sue, coming at you just yelling and out of controll would pose a threat!

    • Tracie Swietek on January 6, 2011 at 8:45 pm

I also agree!! I don’t know about Nevada laws, but Las Vegas IS Sen. Harry Reid country and he is PRO-Rancher which is definitely non-Mustang!! In every other jurisdiction in this country what Sue Wallis did to Ms. Netherlands is an assualt!! Whether she INTENDED to hurt her or not, it is still an assualt!! Yes, she should file a complaint against the police department for failing to allow her to file charges. It isn’t for them to say if there was a crime commited it is for the DA to determine that. If I were her, I’d also file a lawsuit against the Nevada Police Department for failing to file criminal charges against Ms. Wallis. She isn’t anybody special. She puts her “panties” on just like anybody else and she is not “above” the law! Just like any U.S. Congressman or Senator. They aren’t above the law either. Ms. Netherland, we are behind you 100%!! I do hope your arm heals perfectly and God Bless You and Your family!!

I can’t believe the police told her that. I’d be talking to the Chief on Police. I’m sure that Simone has good council.

SUE WALLIS SHOULD BE FIRED. SHE HAS NO RIGHT ATTACKING PEOPLE FOR TELLING THE TRUTH. SHE IS NOTHING BUT A LIAR AND USES HER LARGE SIZE TO BULLY PEOPLE AROUND. SHE HAS NO COMPASSION FOR PEOPLE OR ANIMALS. SHE DESERVES WHAT SHE DISHES OUT. I AM WRITING PETITION AND GETTING SIGNATURES TO VOTE HER OUT OF OFFICE.

I hope that Simone is alright. It doesn’t surprise me that the only bad behavior at the “Summit” was by one of its organizers. The conference was advertised as being open to all.

  10. HorseLover on January 6, 2011 at 7:34 pm

I also agree with the other comments! Simone should go after both SW and the LVPD. They try to keep it as hush-hush as possible because of who is involved and because the casino doesn’t want any bad publicity. SW needs to be removed from her position immediately!! And yes, they did advertise as the conference being open to all, but only open to all who are for slaughter. These people and the BLM believe they are above the law. It’s time they find out that they are not above the law!! It’s all about greed…the root of all evil….and oil pipelines…’slaughter is still happening out there, we mind as well profit from it’….what? huh? why don’t we stop it all together?? Anyone who tries to profit from these noble, majestic creatures of God will have to answer to him one day…wish I could be a fly on the wall!!

  11. HorseLover on January 6, 2011 at 7:37 pm

OH, and the individuals we met while protesting were all against slaughter and eating horse meat. I’m happy to say we educated a number of people as to how toxic the meat actually is. ‘But the blood test showed no drugs in their system’…yeah, well, check the meat idiots….the toxins are in the MEAT! Not blood…there is a difference. And they still talk about feeding it to their families…*sigh*…

I think assault charges are being filed against Sue Wallis. A different police station agreed with Simone Netherlands that she has a right to press charges. I hope we can get updated about this.

    • Tracie Swietek on January 6, 2011 at 8:55 pm

Yeah!!!! I hope this is true!! She should file charges! Praise the Lord!

      • Cat Kindsfather on January 7, 2011 at 10:33 am

        I believe this is true.

        • Cat Kindsfather on January 7, 2011 at 10:35 am

True, regarding the other police station.

  13. Vikki Brink on January 6, 2011 at 10:17 pm

The law states that you have no right to grab or touch anyone unless you are fending off that person. Wells was ejecting her from the room. This is the job of the police. Weills should have let her set down and call the police and let them ask Simone Netherlands to come with them. You have every right to file an amended complaint against the police, Wells and the Summit organization. Take them to court for money and then donate the money to the Save the Mustangs in Wells name. Wouldn’t that just frost her butt.
Please update me as to the outcome.

    Great factional article Mr. Long!!!

  16. L. Zimdars on January 7, 2011 at 1:26 am

Talk about a load of crap.. LIES… yes you… .. FACTS… 07 slaughter closed down for horses… and 9 out of ten people are NOT agents horse slaughter… come one.. oh ya.. and i want to know how someone can pull and push someone at the same time… once again LIES… if it was true then charges would of been filled.

    • Cat Kindsfather on January 7, 2011 at 10:42 am

Its on video at the casino! No lies. Casinos never want lawsuits, and I feel the local police are tied up tight with casinos. They saw the video, but felt that Wallis did not intend to harm her, just eject her from the room, and they refused to do a police report! That is wrong to bodily remove someone, by forceful contact! I believe charges were filed in another police department in Vegas.
      Stay tuned….

Sue Wallis should not be representing Wyoming in anything. She is one big embarrassment. I am ashamed to be in the same state as her. She has no ethics, remorse, or intelligence. She puts out so much drivel that she is impossible to believe. She makes plenty of it up herself. Did you know she was a scientist? All because of something she read in a TB magazine. That makes her an expert.

  18. Shari Welsh on January 7, 2011 at 8:25 pm

Slaughter House Sue was apparently very upset about the horrific truth being exposed by Las Vegas’s I-TEAM NEWS 8, about her & her BUDDIES ON THE DOWN LOW-BLM’ s sadistic & deranged plans for Americas horses,( which include slaughtering all wild horses & all other wildlife on our public lands so their CRONIES, 13 MILLION OR SO, PRIVATELY OWNED WELFARE CATTLE & SHEEP
CAN CONTINUE DESTROYING OUR PUBLIC LANDS, CAUSE DESERTIFICATION, CAUSE NOXOUS WEED EXPLOSION, DESTROY ALL WATER, SOIL, WILDLIFE, FISH AND NATIVE PLANTS AND COLLECT UP TO 1 BILLION PER YEAR IN WELFARE CATTLE/SHEEP SUBSIDIES). Apparently Slaughter house Sue & her BLM buddies like BOB ABBEY were not to happy that their slaughter fest was covered by award winning Journalist George Knapp and Las Vegas super station 8 and their great story exposing Slaughter House Sue’s & BLM’s horrific slaughter intentions for Americas horses, http://www.8newsnow.com/category/28259/8-news-now-video?clipId=5439795
