Wellington, FL – Eight of the 12 teams entered in the 20-goal Ylvisaker Cup drew bracket slots Friday evening at the 7th Chukker at the International Polo Club Palm Beach. The other four teams elected to delay their draw until after they compete in the Joe Barry Cup semifinals.
The draw was live streamed by ChukkerTV, a partner of the USPA Polo Network, and moderated by Bob Puetz, Executive Director of the United States Polo Association. The bracket lineups are: Bracket 1: Horseware/5 Star Builders/Tackeria and Orchard Hill Bracket 2: La Indiana and Tonkawa Bracket 3: Audi and Coca-Cola Bracket 4: Valiente and White Birch The remaining four teams (Enigma, Dubai, Villa del Lago, Palm Beach Illustrated/Technogym) will draw for spots 3, 6, 9 and 12 (one in each bracket) next week.
The Ylvisaker Cup tournament schedule has not yet been set but is planned to start the first round during the first week of February, weather permitting.
“I’m very pleased to have 12 great teams competing in the Ylvisaker Cup 20-goal tournament,” said Puetz. “We have a diverse representation of players from 0 to 10 goals, men and women, and ages ranging from teens to 60s. That’s what makes polo so unique and great. The tournament promises to bring us some of the most exciting polo in the USA.
