Communication Intercept: BLM Has Lid On Davis Matter – Is It Investigating

Citizens Demanding Answers From Chief Spokesman Tom Gorey

WASHINGTON, (Horseback) – Thank you for your prompt reply. The public outcry and concern over this situation clearly warrants your involvement and follow up on behalf of affected horses. The public who is told by you that any credible claims will get your attention deserves a follow up other than your dismissal such as below. If your sales agreements have been met in Tom Davis’ operations with your agency – and are indeed not falling into the category of cover ups, then you have an obligation to come thru with more than the usual pacifying attempts or simply the excuse of not having any further information at this time. I suspect you are not under a gag order, since there may be no investigation going on after all.

The public wants to know where those horses are. You have a duty to keep up with the sales agreement, from beginning to end. The misuse of horses for personal gain has long concerned the tax paying supporters of our wild horses and it’s time you show more than the usual detour.

I ask you follow up and find out the whereabouts of those horses – if they have in fact gone into the slaughter pipeline, Mr. Davis’ failure to follow  thru with BLM sales agreements has to be acknowledged and consequences upheld.  Your lack of pursuing and delivering the all over promises of your agency and now this mess is a disgrace.

It is not by any means a step to increase public trust in any BLM endeavors. When you acquire information in this pressing matter, let us know.

Monika Courtney

While Tom Gorey has no “evidence” he is not pursuing it either.

The ProPublica/Denver Post article provides no evidence to support its insinuation that wild horses bought by Mr. Davis ended up in slaughterhouses.
The BLM will investigate any credible claims that wild horse buyers are not fulfilling their sales agreement, which stipulates that horses are not to be resold or transferred to parties that intend to process the animals into commercial products.

“The BLM will investigate any credible claims that wild horse buyers are not fulfilling their sales agreement,…”

When, Mr. Gorey? When? What exactly will it take for the BLM to investigate and enforce the WH&B Act? Not the portions of the Act open to interpretation, but violations of the actual intent of the Act?

What constitutes ‘credible’? Is it a bill of sale, or a freeze-brand showing up at an abbatoir? Perhaps a picture of this man transporting horses or something more… graphic? Surely nothing issuing from Public concerns; we’ve asked for investigations and provided reams of evidence of wrong-doing that somehow never quite makes the cut.

Obviously, the BLM cares nothing for it’s reputation in the eyes of the Public; we’ve seen examples every decade since adoption of the Act by Congress of wrong-doing or perpetrating every conceivable method of destroying these animals – on the range and while held captive – and nothing changes but the players.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be affiliated with one of the least ‘credible’ and most reviled agencies under Interior.

You better believe that if I, a responsible adoptor, made horses “disappear”, the BLM would be all over me like flies on sh*t with even one horse….yet Tom Davis gets away with not having to show where at least 1700 have gone? What’s up with that other than COLLUSION between the Federal government and Tom Davis, and Tom Davis also making many THOUSANDS of dollars (basically FREE money) by I am 99.9% sure shipping horses to slaughter…..these people are just so arrogant and think they are untouchable, so maybe its time for the majority taxpaying general public to prove them wrong and force consequences for illegal, unethical and callous actions and behavior on OUR wild horses that WE pay for and don’t want going to slaughter!

They knew and now they’ve been busted, now they’re trying to figure out how to cover their asses.

Read “Horses to Slaughter” — Anatomy of a Coverup within the BLM (April 1997)

The BLM is a corrupt agency who is supposedly mandated by law “to protect and manage wild free-roaming horses. The BLM tolerates, accepts and facilitates routine and illegal trafficking of wild horses to slaughter. The agency has consistently obstructed efforts by its own law enforcement officers to expose commercial theft of wild horses, fraudulent adoption schemes and fictitious “sanctuary” herds not only to keep these actions under the radar to avoid exposure, but also to maintain the flow of horses off the range to drive these wild herds to extinction. This has been going on for years. Their (BLM) claim of 30,000+ horses in captivity is a lie.

The BLM is not investigating. It is getting rid of our wild jorses any way it can.

They all must be held accountable, all the way to Salazar and if ,as Obama said in the debates, he takes responsibility for whatever his secretary of state does then he also must take responsibility for what his secretary of the interior does.

The Burns Amendment (shoved into the Appropriations Bill without public review) allows the BLM to very unfortunately, sell wild horses without limitation. Meaning they can sell to people like Davis who is good at making the horses “disappear” and to slaughter if he so chooses and is perfectly “legal”…..not right…..but still legal.

Now the BLM publicly takes the stance of saying the will prosecute anyone who intentionally resells, adopts, or takes a wild horses with the intent to slaughter or to be used as bucking stock. They do this in a attempt to cover their butts and make “good” with the public.

However if a 3rd party was to go in to every LTH location in the US, I would bet my last dollar that indeed there are NOT 45-51,000 wild horses in LTH. it would be far, far less.

Do I hate the BLM? NOPE. Do I think the entire agency is terrible? NOPE. But from the contractors chasing the horses with helicopters, to foals dying in holding after being removed from their mothers before 6 months of age, to horses being sold in bulk to scum like Davis…those in the know within the BLM must stop lying to the public and frankly to the other employees within the BLM who are being lied to as well.

What a legacy. What do you do for a living? Oh I secretly ship off the wild horses of America to be slaughtered and the federal government pays me to do it.

Well I hope their mothers are proud of them.

TIME TO REPEAL the Burns Amendment PRONTO!!

I don’t know if the Burns Amendment could be totally repealed. It’s possible it could be rendered ineffective through an overriding amendment – including insertions and changing its language.

What I don’t understand and am very angry about is that the Burns Amendment (that drastically changes the 1971 Act) was inserted, not challenged or debated. The Burns Amendment allows a free-for-all of death and land swiping for our wild equines and burros and essentially negates the 1971 Act. Bad, bad, bad.

      That is NOT democracy

My understanding was these horses had to be given three chances for adoption before they were put in “the pipeline”. I may have missed something, but I saw no evidence supporting the 3 attempts from the BLM. Does “credible information” mean WE have to prove Davis slaughtered the horses?
An investigation is warranted beyond a doubt! Sick of the BLM stone walling the American Public!

They don’t properly brand, inventory or release status of wild equines….but they keep getting money from Congress. They also don’t allow unencumbered access to roundups or holding sites…and Congress keeps giving them money.

Who are the real scum in this holocaust?

Congress and the White House want them dead.

      They almost have their wish.

In the meantime our public lands and private adjoiners are raping our lands.

The BLM, DOI, Salazar & Tom Davis should NOT be investigated by the BLM. They should be investigated by the Dept. of Justice & the FBI. Let’s not let go of this one folks….keep raising hell until this government fixes it or until that doesn’t happen and taxpayers flat out line the streets and revolt. This government is asking for a revolt, this govenment deserves a revolt. Keep emailing every day: Dept. of Justice askdoj@usdoj.gov Fed. An outside, independent investigation is overdue since years. We are shun off like flies since years. No promises have been materialized since forever. The horses suffer and slip thru the cracks. Whether it concerns “humane” standards, the whereabouts of 1700 horses in a dull economy where adoption rates are at an all time low – or the reform within – BLM is not delivering. The haste on round ups and pacifying the public is now the standard. If this situation with Davis was “clean”, Gorey would have some answers. But Gorey had none when confronted with the abusive shocking misconduct of BLM contracted aircraft knocking over equines, and he fails to pursue this subject now as well. ——————————————————————————–

    Mr. Gorey,
While the article itself may not provide evidence, we know from the past that wild horses have vanished without a trace and gone to slaughter (see comment below from trustworthy CO. source). We also know that they are a lucrative side income for some pretending to cull them for “range management and range “”health”".

I am sure your agency is once again scrambling to save face in the event of a leaking scandal. Unfortunately that is becoming the norm. I and many others would welcome a thorough investigation by independent parties as well to ensure a fully transparent result.

Please keep me posted on any further development. The concern is great, the repeat cause thereof demands attention by all who have been misled to believe BLM is looking “out” for our wild horses.

In the meantime we hope you will demonstrate not only your obligation to investigate Mr. Davis’ history and the whereabouts of said horses, but allow an outside party to be included. We have long awaited the promised transparency by Mr. Abbey back in 2009 – let’s see you do your job and deliver for once.

The American public is increasingly perturbed about the fate of our wild horses. This latest news of horses being bought for commercial processing of any kind is another hint at how animals slip thru the cracks within your system, yet your agency is hell bent to evict most herds to completely unsustainable numbers, performing one round up after another, zeroing out whole herds, simply wiping out our heritage against all logic and America’s wishes – except those of big oil, cattle barons, special interests or BP, to whom you do listen (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/mustangconspiracy/part2-low.html).

Stipulations for protection after sales must be held up and we expect to be informed on the outcome of this latest report. Surely, your agency keeps track with those horses re Davis as well as you pursue all those mustangs whose freedoms you rob so vehemently in their rightful Western range ? Let us know.

Davis did sign an agreement “not to sell with intent to slaughter or bucking stock”, don’t remember the exact wordage but I signed the same thing. He should be indicted on at least 1700 counts of perjury at the very least. Since he is salazoo’s neighbor, it is elevated to a whole new level of corruption and salazoo is once again exposed for the horse thieving, environmental serial killer, thug that he is.
This is all out genocide and they will be extinct very soon.
