WELLINGTON, (Phelps) - Olympic Silver Medalist, Peter Leone piloted Graffiti van den Bisschop, shown as Palio, to the win in the second class of the Split Rock Farm 6 Year Old Young Jumpers at The Hampton Classic.
Palio, a bay Belgian Warmblood stallion by Darco, will be offered at the upcoming OnlyJumpers Sale during the American Gold Cup on Saturday, September 15 at Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY. “Palio is certain to be a top international horse who is an approved stallion with great bloodlines,” shared Leone.
Leone also placed in the Split Rock Farm 6 Year Old Young Jumpers aboard the Lionshare Farm homebred, Wayfarer
Leone and Monica Carrera’s Liincourt Gino were fourth in the $20,000 Nicolock Time Challenge and had top-ten placings in the $7,500 Prudential Douglas 1.45m Jumpers and the $30,000 Pilatus Cup Open.
Teri Wilford Wood’s polished style aboard Halifax Farm’s Tristan Van’t Hof earned the pair a third in the Robert Hoskins Adult Medal and a fourth in the Hugh JB Cassidy III Adult Maclay.
The Lionshare Farm pony contingent continued to deliver at the Hampton Classic. Isabella Russekoff with Suave Pony LLC’s Rico Suave and Peter Pletcher’s Pink Floyd had ribbons in the Smalls, including a third place prize in the handy round with Pink Floyd. Parker Wright and Lionshare Farm’s Anisette had top-ten placings in the Medium Pony Hunters.
Peter Leone is an Olympic equestrian, trainer, producer of hunter/jumper instructional DVDs and author. He owns and operates Lionshare Farm in Greenwich, CT. His clients successfully compete in the pony, equitation, hunter and jumper divisions. He is one of three brothers, internationally known as Team Leone, for their success in the show ring. Leone was a member of the 1996 Silver Medal United States Olympic Show Jumping Team and winner of numerous national and international Grand-Prix show jumping competitions.
